Dolce Isola, a sidewalk bakery and café in the charming Beverylwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, offers all of the charm and distinguished décor of its predecessors, (The Ivy, Ivy at the Shore), but this time with a nod to the European café society of the 1930's and 40's and a pocket-book friendly eat-in or take-out menu.
French ovens were imported into Southern California to bake chef Richard Irving's unmatched baguettes and specialty breads and desserts to those in-the-know Los Angeles locals when Dolce Isola, The Ivy Bakery quietly opened its doors in November 2006. The well-priced and unpretentious menu includes home baked Brioche cinnamon toast for a dollar a slice, Movie Star Mitzi Gaynor's deliciously chewy earthquake chocolate cookies and all of Ricky's famous sweets he has been baking since his L.A. Dessert days. With delicious Caprese sandwiches, out-of-the oven crumbles, and piping hot real Italian espresso, this third business is definitely a charmer and a half.
